Both salinomycin and monensin treatments did not adversely affect the weights of bursa of Fabricius, spleen, thymus, and livers of birds. Cyclophosphamide treatment of birds in early life resulted in bursal atrophy and slight depression of splenic weight gain. As compared to cyclophosphamide treated and non-medicated control birds, the sera of NDV vaccinated birds fed salinomycin/monensin had higher antibody titers on day 42. The post-challenge sera of NDV vaccinated birds fed salinomycin, and monensin also had higher antibody titer as compared to NDV vaccinated cyclophosphamide treated birds.
